'Ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu' means 'the Goddess who resides in all beings as...' — each verse identifies a different divine quality (Shakti/power, Buddhi/intellect, Lakshmi/wealth, Shanti/peace) and bows to that manifestation of the goddess.
Durga Stuti is recited during Navratri (9 nights of Durga worship), on Fridays, on Ashtami and Navami (8th and 9th day of any month), and whenever seeking the goddess's protection.
Durga Saptashati is an ancient Hindu scripture containing 700 verses from the Markandeya Purana describing the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. It is one of the most important texts in Shaktism.
