'Om Gan Ganapataye Namah' is the beej (seed) mantra of Lord Ganesha. 'Gan' is Ganesha's beej akshar. This mantra removes all obstacles and invites Ganesha's blessings before any auspicious work.
Ganesh Mantra should be chanted 108 times daily using a rudraksha or wooden mala. Wednesday is the most auspicious day. Chanting 21 times before starting any work is also very effective.
Vakratunda Mahakaya Suryakoti Samaprabha is a shloka describing Lord Ganesha — 'one with a curved trunk, massive body, with the radiance of a million suns.' It is the most popular Ganesha prayer recited before any new venture.
