ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्।
उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात्॥
We worship the Three-eyed Lord (Shiva) who is naturally fragrant and nourishes all beings.
May He liberate us from death for the sake of immortality, just as a ripe cucumber is severed from its bondage to the creeper.

शब्दार्थ — Word Meaning
- Om (ॐ): The primeval sound, the Absolute.
- Tryambakam (त्र्यम्बकं): The three-eyed one (Lord Shiva). Trya = Three, Ambakam = Eyes.
- Yajamahe (यजामहे): We worship, adore, honor, revere.
- Sugandhim (सुगन्धिं): Sweet smelling, fragrant. (The fragrance of spiritual essence).
- Pushti (पुष्टि): A well-nourished condition, thriving, prosperous, fulness of life.
- Vardhanam (वर्धनम्): One who nourishes, strengthens, causes to increase.
- Urvarukam-iva (उर्वारुकमिव): Like the cucumber or melon (urvarukam); iva equates to 'like' or 'just as'.
